Guitarists, look no further! Sam is your guy. He has done a great deal of quality work for me over the past few years from general setups to fairly involved bending unit installations. He’s timely, reliable and affordable (and also has a great sense of humor, to boot!) He’s also a helluva player! I always call him first.
I've had tons of work done by Sam in the last 3 years and it's always top notch! Not only is he a great tech, he is a great musician with a knack for setting up instruments to suit an individual's playing style.
I no longer trust anyone else for guitar repair/setup. Sam does the best work and makes all my instruments play and sound their best. Other places may do a good job, but Sam’s work is above and beyond anywhere else I’ve been.
Bridge City is the only place I will take my guitars. Not only is Sam a competent tech, but he is also extremely knowledgeable and takes the time to know what you want from the instrument and offers suggestions on how to get there. Absolutely amazing service. Last guitar he worked on was my ‘56 ES175 (setup and new nut). It is due for a refret soonish and I know exactly where to take it.

I brought in my 5 string P bass that was pretty much sitting in my closet and out of commission for a few years. Sam did the most amazing job on it and now the bass plays and sounds like a brand new instrument. If you're looking for just a set up or a full scale repair or overhaul, Bridge City Guitar is a no brainer. Thanks, Sam!
Sam is an amazing guitar technician. He’s done a lot of work for me ranging from the small set up, to bridge conversions and turning a mustang bass into a fretless. I’d definitely recommend him and he’s also a great player!
Lemme tell you what a pleasure and privilege it is to interact with Sam about guitar repair. From dropping off your axe, discussing what work is to be done, and picking up the improved instrument. He is entirely reliable and gets the job done well. If you get the chance to learn about repair from him, take it. I found the experience to be a real treat

Amazing experience and my guitar has never sounded better! The pickup install and set up were TOP NOTCH and turnaround time has insanely fast! I’ll never bring any of my guitars anywhere else!
Sam at Bridge City is a treasure. I've taken guitar lessons from Sam and he set up my new Telecaster. He's a rare combination of an expert craftsman and technician, but also a tremendous musician and teacher - and all around good dude.

Sam reconstructed my Jazzmaster after my refin and installed new pickups. The work is all top flight. Every aspect of the construction and set up is perfect. I've used several shops and techs for work in and around Portland, and I won't hesitate to go back to Sam for anything. He knows his stuff, and will return your instrument to you in better condition than you knew it could be. Very highly recommend.

Sam has been great to work with. Easy to communicate with and the work is quality. He's done a set up and installed a pickup on my acoustic 12 string and also replaced my old Les Paul pickups. Excellent work and his recommendations on replacement parts are spot on!
