Services

PRICING SUBJECT TO CHANGE

Below is a list of some of the most common services we offer. Not every service is listed, and these should be used as guidelines rather than exact quotes.

Setups

The setup makes or breaks your instrument’s playability, and we take setups very seriously. We will discuss your specific needs to tailor the setup to you, as we believe there is no one “right” setup for a guitar.

Acoustic  $100 +

Includes restring, truss rod adjustment, saddle adjustment, nut slot adjustment, intonation (may require new saddle), body and fingerboard cleaning, fret polishing, hardware tightening, electronic cleaning and new battery (where applicable)

Electric  $100+

Includes restring, truss rod adjustment, bridge/saddle adjustment, nut slot adjustment, intonation, body and fingerboard cleaning, fret polishing, hardware tightening, electronic cleaning, new battery (where applicable)

12-String/Floyd Rose/Etc.  $135+

Same as above, but anything requiring additional strings or setup labor such as locking tremolo systems will incur an additional charge.

Bass  $100 + Strings

As bass strings are significantly more expensive, the cost is factored into the setup separately. Many bass players choose to keep their strings on longer than guitar players, so you may wish to do this as well, and we can advise you further upon check-in.

Mandolins/Banjos/Ukuleles

We work on these too, just reach out to discuss the needs of your specific instrument!

Nuts and Saddles

Nut or Saddle $115

We make all nuts and saddles from blanks by hand, usually out of bone, but can use other materials upon request.

Fretwork

Properly installed and crowned frets are critical to the playing experience and affect everything from feel to intonation. We can evaluate whether your frets can be leveled and crowned, or if they need to be replaced. From there, we can discuss different fretwire options to determine what suits your needs best.

Fret Level $250+

Neck is adjusted straight, fingerboard is protected, then frets are leveled, crowned with a variety of files, and polished up to a mirror shine. During a fret level we will also address any frets that have come unseated and glue them back in place. We also will address sharp fret ends or “fret sprout.” This service also includes a full setup.

Refret $575+

Before a refret, we will determine if the fingerboard is able to be planed flat, and if so, by how much. After making that decision, fretwire choice will be discussed and chosen with your input to determine the most appropriate for your playing style and preferred feel. Once underway, we will remove the frets using the appropriate method for the instrument (vintage Fenders require special care), we will level and dress the fingerboard, install new frets with glue, dress the ends, and the level, crown and polish to a mirror shine. This service also includes a full setup.

Wiring/Electronics

We are able to address everything from a noisy output jack to pickup installs to a total custom rewire. Upon check-in of your instrument, we will help determine the necessary work required and issue a ranged quote based on expected labor and parts at our shop rate of $120/hr

Structural Work

We are able to handle a wide variety of structural repairs, ranging from bridge reglues to cracks to neck resets. As structural repairs vary wildly in terms of complexity and scope, we will issue a ranged quote after thorough evaluation of the instrument at our shop rate of $120/hr

Misc.

All other work will be given a quote after check-in at our hourly rate of $120/hr.

There may be times when we have to turn an instrument away – this is rare and never personal, but occasionally we are not able to ensure a high quality repair given the constraints of the job, be it budget or build quality of the instrument and scope of the required work. As a result, we do not accept partial jobs. Above all else, we want you to be happy with your instrument, and if we don’t think we will be able to deliver that, we will politely discuss this with you. We promise it’s out of love for you and your cherished instrument.
